Getting My Ducks All In a Row

Wow. New blog. Sometimes I wonder what I signed myself up for =D

I’ve been putting this off for some time now – I have no idea what to write about first. Oh, there’s a lot I want to write about – but that first post… I’ve decided that it’s really not that big of a deal and if I would just go ahead and do it, it would be done and we could move on. So that’s what we’re doing =D

Getting all my ducks in a row for this new year has been exciting and exhausting. I work very well with good structure. I feel comfortable and safe in routine. I do not do well implementing new routines at random times, that just does not work in my brain for whatever reason. Starting something new in the middle of the week feels weird, I need a Monday or a 1st of the month. It’s incredibly out of my comfort zone to write my first post on a Wednesday, and the 2nd of the month at that. But, I think my Wordy Wednesdays are going to work just fine.

I’m sure many of you aren’t too interested in some of the new routines I’m implementing this year. But I’m quite excited to work on some pre-preschool curriculum with my 2.75 year old baby girl. We have a chore chart for the two of us as well, and I’ve already figured out a couple things I’m going to change about it after the first draft is filled out. I never dreamed I would fall in love with Excel – “never say never” – I think it may be my new best friend. I’ll probably nevernot grow out of my love of journals for written lists… but with this amazing technological age I can create spreadsheets on my computer and access them from my smart phone or iPad even without Internet access! I believe tracking for my business and budget will be a breeze this year and as soon as I finish 2013’s taxes I’ll probably be excited about taking care of 2014’s taxes… yes, I’m that weird!

In an attempt to streamline my life so that I have more time to spend with my family and building those dreamy spreadsheets, I’ve stopped blogging on my old Blogger page (for kicks, here’s my first ever blog post, from 2007 http://missahmanda.blogspot.com/2007/01/blog-post.html) but will “Throwback Thursday” every now and then because some of those oldies are goodies- and in attempt to actually post once a week I need some backup for those weeks when I’ve gotten absolutely nothing done… (don’t worry, I know you don’t have those kinds of weeks) This website will be “all-in-one” for me. You’ll get to be a part of all our silly adventures and both our big and small moments. I will shamelessly teach you about natural wellness options! I will show you what we’re doing around our house (Kombucha and Kefir coming up – to say I’m excited is an understatement). I still have a list of “to-do” projects to spiff a few things up around here, because really, DIY projects not only save you money and feed your creative spirit, but you actually get to be in control, and I sure love being in (not going to actually say it out loud).
We’re memorizing Bible verses as a family. We’re learning our alphabet and numbers. We’re working on living out wellness instead of fads. It’s going to be quite the adventure and I’m so excited that you’ll be joining me.
